| Introduction to Emails and Campaigns | ||
Shindig features a useful web-based email tool that integrates with your contact list, making it easy to send and track emails. There's also a powerful campaign tool which, when used in conjunction with the list-building feature, enables you to quickly and easily send out emails to multiple contacts. more Contents for this section > selecting the "from" address > selecting the recipient list > creating the body of the message > creating a plain text alternative Finding and Reading Your Email > switching views between folders > moving messages between folders > building your distribution list > viewing a campaign's progress
Each Shindig user on your account has their own Shindig email address. By default this takes the form of username@domain., where the username is the user's log-in name and the domain is the name you defined for your company when you first registered with Shindig. There are four big advantages Shindig's email can provide over other email packages. First, because you access Shindig over the web, it means you can access your email wherever and whenever you are online - at work, at home, away on holiday. Secondly, each email you send or receive from a contact in your database is attached to that contact's details. That means when you view that contact's 360 window you get to see all email related to that customer. That makes it a lot easier to view ongoing issues with just one click from the contact's record.
The third advantage is that when you view the email history for a particular contact, you don't just see your email. You can see all the emails sent to and from that contact from every Shindig user in your company. That makes it easy to keep track of customer contacts, even if you have not been dealing with that customer personally. Finally, sending a campaign email is just as easy as sending an individual email. So sending out newsletters or customer notices couldn't be easier. You need to predefine the list of recipients, but then you just add the list in the "to" box for a campaign email, determine when you'd like it to go out, and off it goes.
