| Adding Security Details | ||
To add security detaiols, first you'll need to create a new contact. This will open a new window with blank fields for all the main details of a contact.
For each new contact you need to add at least the contacts surname from the main contact details screen. Then, from the drop down menu in the top left of this new window, select security details.
On the security details screen you can store details that you might require for a person to identify themselves - for example, to validate they are who they say they are when talking to you on the phone or accessing parts of your website. The first part of this page contains the contact's username and password. This will be used by the contact to log-in parts of your website to, for example, book appointments, change details or buy products. This function is not enabled in the first release of Shindig but you can, if you wish, assign usernames and passwords to contacts in readiness for the launch of this feature.
You can also nominate two types of identity - for example, credit card, drivers licence number etc. Choose from the drop down list for the first identity type required, then use the details field to store the number or details related to the type you have selected. Then repeat the exercise for the 2nd identity type. The list of identity types can be added to, edited, or deleted in the Profile section of Shindig.
Finally, a contact can answer a secret question which can be used to identity himself or herself. The question must come from a pre-defined list, which you can edit in the Profile section of Shindig. Simply select the question from the list and enter the contact's details. We have provided some suggestions for when you first use Shindig.
Remember changes are not saved to your Shindig database until you press the "save" button. Now you can close the window or move to another screen to store more details. Choose from the drop down menu at the top of the window to move to membership details...
..or click the advance arrow ( > ) in the top right corner.
