Adding Payment Details print
email

To add payment details, start by creating the contact following the instructions on how to create a new contact. This will open a new window with blank fields for all the main details of a contact.

a new contact window

For each new contact you need to add at least the contacts surname from the main contact details screen.

Then, from the drop down menu in the top left of this new window, select payment details.

payment details from drop down menu

On the payment details screen you can store details of a contact's credit card. This is useful when you are accepting regular purchases from a customer, either in person, over the phone or through your website. You can edit the cards that appear in the drop down menu in the Profile section of Shindig, but you'll need to save any changes and close the contacts window before going to edit this list.

select the contact's credit card type

Other fields are available to store other credit card information, including the Cardholder's name (as it appears on the card), the Card Number, the Security Code (this is the last 3 or 4 digits on the reverse of a credit card) and the Expiry Date (mm/yy).

fill in credit card details

A basic check is made to ensure the right number of digits are stored in the Card Number field. If the wrong number is entered an error message will appear when you try to save your changes.

Next you can add the contact's bank details. The list of banks that appears in the drop down menu can be edited in the Profile section, but ensure you save your changes and close the comntact's window before attempting to edit your list of banks.

select the contact's bank

You can store other information about the contact's bank account, including the account name, number, the location of the branch and the branch code or BSB number.

fill in bank details

Remember changes are not saved to your Shindig database until you press the "save" button.

Now you can close the window or move to another screen to store more details. Choose from the drop down menu at the top of the window to move to security details...
