Introduction to Contacts & Mailing Lists print
email

The "Contacts" database contains details about your customers, your suppliers, your members, your friends - infact, anyone you regularly deal with.

By linking your orders, emails and appointments to your contacts it is possible to view your entire relationship with each individual through the "Contacts" section of Shindig. Or in many other places in Shindig where you see a contact's name.

In the "Contacts" section of Shindig you can:

- view, edit, add or delete your contacts

- classify your contacts into categories

- view, edit, add or delete from a list of companies

- associate contacts with companies in your database

- view appointments and/or purchases made by this contact

- view the emails and phone calls made to and received from this contact.

Contact Views

There are three ways of viewing a contact in Shindig. The list view shows all individual names in your database. It is accessed by clicking on the "Contacts" menu item on the main menu.

The individual view shows all the details you have about a particular contact. This includes their name and address details, as well as all email sent to and from that person, as well as purchases and appointments made. The individual view is shown in a new window when you click on a contact from the list view.

Finally, individuals can be shown in a staff list within a company view. Here you can see who works for a particular organisation. You access this list by clicking on "view all companies" in the "Contacts" side menu, then clicking on a company name from the company list. Then you choose the staff tab to view the individuals who work for this company. (contacts > view all companies > {select company} > staff)
